Quite a project, starts good, but now gas gauge does not register and still says low fuel. Do I need to reset something

Fuel pump quit, replaced, started immediately all good, but now low fuel stays on and gas gauge not working, only thing tried was disconnect on battery, did not fix, wondering if some type of reset or need 2 pull new fuel pump, any ideas??

Not sure if you solved this but seems like the issue that you're having would be caused by a fault with the sending unit. Did your fuel pump come with the sending unit as one composite assembly?

Thank u, yes, we had 2 remove the tank, it was a complete unit w new sending unit, we noticed box was damaged when received, upon closer inspection discovered sending unit wire was bent and bumping against apparatus, so cud not register, hubby bent the wire out, reinstalled, what a project 4 an 82 and 80 yo, and 2 have 2 do it twice, bout killed these 2 old timers, nothing about that project was easy, thank u again, working fine now

That is a great story and great to hear you two got it fixed. No better way to love your rig than to work on it yourself but - even for this 60yo with a bad back and knees - it's not always fun! Travel safe.
