restarting a 2005 BT Cruiser HW heater

New owner of a 2005 BT Cruiser and just went through dewinterization. The manual is not helpful in restarting/igniting the hot water heater. Gas is working to the range and refrig. Any help is much appreciated. Reportedly the water heater was serviced in 3/18 and worked. Thanks!

Hi there. I also have an 05 cruiser. My winter prep consists of draining tanks and hot water tank, removing the anode and flushing the tank out. I then, with my compressor, blow all remaining water out of the lines. On startup in the spring, I fill the water tank, turn the pump on and pressurize the system, filling hot water tank.on your control panel, left side is the switch to turn the heater on. If it doesn’t light, a red light showing pilot not lit. Turn switch on until you can hear the heater operating. Hope this helps.

FIRST MAKE SURE HEATER NOT IN BYPASS AND IS FILLED W/ water? Blow water out relief valve? Can you hear igniter sparking, trying to light?

My pilot light is off. Anode was replaced. I have a 2005 BT5211 Gulfstream

RV Water Heaters today do NOT have a PILOT LIGHT, they use DIRECT SPARK IGNITION (DSI). If hot, will be off. If getting cold water from hot tank, either tank bypass open, or outside shower valves open, either allows cold to mix with hot as it leaves the tank.

WH BRAND AND MODEL WILL HELP, but generically, most common problem is a failure to light when first turned on, and this is caused by AIR IN THE PIPING vs GAS. Best practice is turn on gas valve at tank slowly, FULLY, so that hose rupture safety does not trip, then light stovetop to bleed air out of piping. After bleeding air at stovetop, refrig and WH generally will still require 2-3 RESET attempt, in order to bleed remaining air. Systems should be reliable after that until a hose removed to change a tank, usually trailers? Good Luck. IF model has no pilot, best relabel to FAULT.

Thank you, new owner here, it wasn’t winterized, I just replaced the anode because water leaked out of the valve, but once I put in the anode and flipped the switch downward, water is not leaking

My only problem now is that I don’t have a hot water and that the private light off button is lit, even though my refrigerator and my stove work and both runoff propane

I also have 2/3 of a tank of propane
