I just completed the replacement of my Guardian RV generator. It was getting high in hours and leaked a lot of oil. For two year I've been looking at the RVMP 4000I generator. I've seen them at the last two RV shows. I am impressed as it really is much quieter than my Guardian. I believe most BTs come with Onan. This is much quieter than the Onan as well. Only time will tell if it is more fuel efficient, but RVMP claims that they are. The control panel uses one less wire for the start button and the hour meter. I pulled the old on/off switch and the hour meter out and replaced it with RVMP's switch and meter. RVMP switch is round but with a tapered drill bit you can round out the rectangular hole. One difference in the start switch is you don't have to hold it. Maybe I should remove the print on the remote panel. I'll share a few pictures of the equipment.

Nice work. That old generator must weigh more than 200lbs. Is the new one lighter? Our Onan 4000 is at 180lbs.

Much lighter. Weighs in at 121lbs. I should have mentioned that as another positive note. It also uses inverter technology and has a 3-year warranty. Go to www.rvmp.co for a list of details.

Thank for the reply and link. Looks like that is a great option.

I took a different route. I removed the Onan 4000 and used the space to install a drawer to hold a Champion 2500 dual fuel. I added a 20 lb tank in the space saved. The plan is to just use the new generator to charge the batteries. We have 1000 amp hours of lithium on board.
