We’re thinking about pulling our 6,000 # car on a 16’ utility trailer instead of putting a tow bar on our car. Any thoughts? Pros/Cons?

A 6000 lb car on a suitable trailer will total around 8000 lbs or so -- does your RV presently have a 10K hitch and rating? Also be aware that a 16 foot 7500 GVWR rated trailer often only has a 4,200 to 5,500 payload rating so a 6000 lb car will be an overload.

Further, you have to consider where you will store/park the open tandem trailer when you are at your destination, as many RV parks have very limited storage parking.

Just to verify your 6000 lb number -- I wrote my reply above for the worst case of 6000 lb CURB weight...if it is for a 6000 lb maximum gross weight car that may give a bit more margin. Are we talking a Lincoln Navigator and similar here (the first case using curb weight) or a tax Section 179 qualifying 6000 lb GVWR vehicle -- or even a much smaller compact car? It matters which...

Best I can tell the mh the OP has is built on a E450 chassis with a 7,500 lb hitch and a 22,000 lb GCWR. I suspect the OP would be pushing the safety envelope with a 6k lb vehicle on a trailer
