Default lock or no lock

Do you lock the engine compartment doors? My tourmaster has a fire extingusher inside the compartment so it would be kind of hairy if there was a fire and I had to unlock the door to get at it.

I have to lock mine because of the design that is the only way to keep the doors shut is to lock the two locks on it, one on each side.

But even if I didn't have to, I would still anyway, because of the two engine/chassis batteries sit right inside the bottom below the door/grill.
